We meet every fortnight. One meeting is an open meeting, at which members bring books or articles that have interested them for an open discussion. This has been an excellent way of introducing us to a wider range of books. The second meeting is to discuss the chosen book selected from a range of topics that the group wants to explore for example a particular author, Scottish Literature, political novels , humour in novels, mental health, books we feel we ‘should’ have read! We follow the topic over four or five months.

We enjoy such things as exploring the structure of the books, the characterisation, how they compare with other books in their genre, and the use of language.
