We are a long established, friendly group meeting weekly for walks of approximately 5 miles.We have members from all sides of Sheffield so our walks are very varied. We have a good social life including meals out each year and a drink at the end of most walks.

Each walker is responsible for his/her own safety. No member of the group can be held
responsible for the safety of others.
Members are asked to carry their own basic first aid kit with them on walks.
Walks start promptly at 10.30am

January 2nd

Stannington Round Walk. Meet at the Crown and Glove,
Uppergate Road. What3Words think.robots.youth
Distance 5 miles

Wednesday
January 10

Meet at Longshaw Car Park near Fox House, S11 7TZ,
this is a pay and display car park but is free to NT
members.
Walk is about 4 1⁄2 through Longshaw estate, Tumbling
Hill, Nether Padley, Granby Woods back to Longshaw.
The walk goes along some clear paths, through
woodland and over moorland so it can be a bit rough
underfoot in places. Some ascending and descending.

Urban walk through EndcliffePark, general cemetery and
the Botanical gardens.

Meet at Sheffield IKEA park&ride. Walk to Wincobank
Hill Fort and back. This will be mostly an urban walk with
some woods and meadows. Milage details to follow
when I've done the recce.

January 30th

Bents Green to Porter Brook. Meet ad park Common Ln,
Whitely Wood Rd. What 3 words dreams.palm.narrow.
We’ll head down to Porter Brook and follow upstream to
Llama Farm. Back into the valley via steep path. Mostly
good paths. About 5miles

Wednesday
February 7th

Meet at roadside car park opposite the Norfolk Arms,
Ringinglow Road, S11 7TS. Lady Canning Plantation,
Brown Edge, explore Mayfield Valley, Forge Dam (cafe
available), Porter Clough. Just over 5 miles.

Tuesday
February 13th

Three Edges - 6 miles. Meet at Curbar Gap car park. Grid ref: SK262747, W3W///visual.vibrate.arose.

Circular walk taking in Froggatt, Curbar and White edges. Mostly flat but with one or two steep sections and some woodland tracks. The paths can be narrow and stony in some places.

River Derwent to Grindleford & back
Meet at Hathersage Station

streets of Hathersage. Journey alongside the river from

Harper Lees farm, through Coppice Woods to St Helen’s
Church, Grindleford, onwards to Tumbling Hill, Rough
Wood, Throstle Nest, then back to Hathersage. Distance:
10km, 6 miles.

March 6th

Meet at Chequers in Coal Aston, free parking in the car
park at the pub. W3W///comb.fleet.alone. Walk to Ford
and back, thru Troway. See if the tree has been removed
from the path!

March 12th

Meet at the free car park at the Peak Underbank Activity
Centre on Oaks Lane, Stocksbridge. Grid ref: 245991 .
What3Words: monitors.perfectly.footsteps. Do not use
the postcode for the activity centre in sat nav!
5 miles on footpaths, roads, tracks and moorland with
moderate inclines. 5 miles.

Wednesday
March 20th

Bakewell, Conksbury Bridge, Over Haddon, Bakewell.
Drive out of Bakewell on the Monyash Road and turn left
up the road onto Yeld Road. Drive several 100 yards and
park on the road where it bends to the right near the
junction with Burton Edge. What3words -
