Members have some basic knowledge of BSL but most are not fluent or fast. 

At the meetings we explore a topic asking and answering each other questions. 

We are fortunate to have 2 fluent signers in the group who are happy to direct us. We also learn about deaf culture. 

Most of us spend a little time practising before each session using various apps and also watching drama and shows which are signed.

The group is not suitable for those with no BSL. For those who are wanting to learn we can put you in touch with one another so they can learn together if they so wish, - this would be an informal group and not part of U3A.
